Do you love nature and have a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families? If so, volunteering with NatureKids BC is an incredible opportunity to connect with nature, inspire young minds, and contribute to a meaningful cause. NatureKids BC is a nature discovery and environmental action non-profit organization that aims to foster lasting connections with nature among children and their families. Let’s explore what makes NatureKids BC so special and how you can get involved!

Who are NatureKids as a community supporter?

NatureKids BC is a dedicated community supporter, working to help children and their families form meaningful and enduring connections with nature. Their mission is simple yet powerful – to encourage children in British Columbia to explore, play, learn, and take action for nature alongside their families. By fostering a love for the outdoors, NatureKids BC inspires a new generation of nature enthusiasts and environmental advocates.

How do they help the community, and what services do they offer?

NatureKids BC’s impact on the community is made possible by their passionate volunteers, members, and donors. Through nature clubs in all corners of the province, they engage young families in the exploration of British Columbia’s diverse ecosystems. NatureKids BC is all about making it easy for families to experience nature together and offers a variety of services to achieve this goal. Some of these services include:

  • Explorer Days: These are exciting events where kids aged 5-12 and their families get to explore the great outdoors together. From nature hikes to wildlife spotting, these adventures create unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for nature.

  • NatureWILD Magazine: NatureKids BC publishes an inspiring magazine filled with captivating stories and articles about nature. The magazine encourages kids to learn more about the environment and the world around them.

  • Stewardship Initiatives: NatureKids BC promotes environmental stewardship by encouraging families to take action and make a positive impact on their local environment.

  • Community Science Programs: These programs involve families in citizen science projects, allowing them to contribute valuable data to scientific research while having fun in nature.
