If you have volunteers in an ECE Program or a licensed Adult Care Facility you may be legally required to screen your volunteers through the Provincial Criminal Record Review. AVRBC and Volunteer BC have arranged a special meeting with Stacey Warren-Davies Manager, Client Services, Policing and Security Programs Branch, Ministry of Justice and Jennifer MacNeil, Supervisor, Criminal Record Review Program, Ministry of Justice to discuss the implications of the Criminal Record Review Act on your Volunteer Programs.
This informative session for Coordinators of Volunteers, Executive Directors, staff and Boards of Directors will cover:
• The background and reasoning behind the Criminal Record Review Act
• Your legal obligations under the Criminal Record Review Act
• Recommendations from AVRBC on best practices for integrating the Criminal Record Review into your screening procedures
• Next steps to explore ways to minimize the impact of these legislative changes on our volunteers and programs
